Solutions

Deploy spiders in minutes. We run the infrastructure.

Bitmaker Cloud (BMC) is our fully managed, multi-tenant instance of Estela: register, deploy your spider, and pay only for what you use. No Kubernetes, no DevOps, nothing to own.

What's included

The platform underneath, none of the operating cost

Kubernetes, Kafka, MongoDB, and the rest of the multi-tenant stack are entirely Bitmaker's responsibility — you write and deploy the spider, we keep the platform it runs on.

Core

Elastic, multi-tenant execution

The same Kubernetes-based infrastructure runs one occasional job and a sustained high-volume workload side by side, with no migration between tiers as you grow — unlike platforms where scaling means jumping to a bigger predefined plan.

estela-cli

Deploy and automate via CLI

estela set-token, estela create project, and estela deploy handle setup and deployment — and the CLI also creates and schedules jobs directly, so your whole daily operation can run without touching the dashboard.

Billing

Usage-based billing, your choice

Pay by card with an automatic monthly charge, or prepay credits that never expire — whichever fits your team. No subscription and no commitment either way; cancel anytime from the dashboard.

Multi-framework

Scrapy first, more on the way

Scrapy is fully supported today. Support for other scraping frameworks, including dynamic sites via Playwright, is being finalized with our Platform team — ask us before committing a non-Scrapy project.

How it works

From an empty account to a running spider

Most teams are deployed in under 30 minutes, with no code changes required beyond what your spider already does — this is exactly what happens on cloud.bitmaker.dev.

Step 01

Create your account

Sign up at cloud.bitmaker.dev. You get $5 in free credits automatically — no credit card needed. Your dashboard is ready immediately.

Bitmaker Cloud — Create your account
Step 02

Install the CLI & connect it

Run pip install estela, point it at Bitmaker Cloud with estela set-host, then create an API key with estela create-api-token and save it with estela set-token. No password is ever stored on your machine.

Bitmaker Cloud — Install the CLI & connect it
Step 03

Initialize your project

Run estela init in your existing Scrapy project root. This links your local project to BMC and generates the estela.yaml config. No code changes needed.

Bitmaker Cloud — Initialize your project
Step 04

Deploy your scraper

Run estela deploy. BMC containerizes your code automatically and allocates resources on demand. Your spider appears in the dashboard instantly.

Bitmaker Cloud — Deploy your scraper
Step 05

Schedule or run on demand

Set a cron schedule, trigger via API, or run manually from the dashboard. Your scraper executes exactly when you need it to — no extra configuration.

Bitmaker Cloud — Schedule or run on demand
Step 06

Monitor, analyze & export

Live logs, execution metrics, and itemized cost breakdown per scraper. Download extracted data as CSV directly from the Items tab — no extra tooling needed.

Account

One account, four roles

Invite your whole team without handing everyone the same level of access — add as many Viewers, Developers, and Admins as you need, at no extra cost.

Viewer

Sees every project, spider, job, and log, and can download extracted data and stats. Can't launch jobs or change anything.

Developer

Everything a Viewer can do, plus deploys code, launches and stops jobs, and creates or edits scheduled jobs.

Admin

Everything a Developer can do, plus manages who's on the account — adding, removing, or changing members.

Owner

Full control over the account, including billing. Ownership itself can only be transferred by the Bitmaker team, never by another role.

How it's priced

Pay for what you use — nothing else

No subscription, no minimum, no contract. Charged automatically by card each month, or deducted in real time from prepaid credits that never expire.

Bandwidth $1.00 / GB
Processing time $0.0020 / min
Data retention $2.00 / GB / mo

If a job runs out of credits mid-way, it finishes safely and nothing is deleted — the queue simply resumes once you top up, and you keep access to every dataset you've already generated.

No subscription No exit fee Credits never expire Cancel anytime

Is this yours

Built for teams that already have a spider to run

Bitmaker Cloud is for execution, not development — if your spider doesn't exist yet, or needs fixing, that's a different service.

Great fit if you...

  • Need to run, schedule, and monitor spiders without building or owning any infrastructure — whatever your volume.
  • Already have a working spider — yours, or built through Professional Services — and just need somewhere reliable to run it.
  • Want to start today, self-service, with no sales cycle and no commitment.
  • Have real volume but don't need owned infrastructure — whether or not you need a formal support commitment (BMC Enterprise).

Questions

Before you deploy

The things most teams ask before running their first job on Bitmaker Cloud.

Do I need to migrate my existing scraper?
Existing Scrapy projects deploy as-is. Support for other frameworks, including dynamic-scraping tools like Playwright, is being finalized with our Platform team — check with us before committing a non-Scrapy project to BMC.
How is usage billed?
Usage is calculated per job across bandwidth, processing time, and data retention, then aggregated and charged monthly by card, or deducted in real time from prepaid credits.
What happens if I run out of credits?
Job execution pauses — nothing is deleted, and you keep full access to the dashboard and to every dataset already generated. The queue resumes automatically as soon as you top up.
What if my card payment fails?
You'll be notified and given a 5-day grace period. If it's not resolved by then, job execution pauses — the same as running out of credits — while your dashboard and already-extracted data stay fully accessible.
Can I export my data, or do I have to use the dashboard?
Export as JSON, JSONL, or CSV whenever you like, or stream results directly to your own S3 or GCS bucket as they're produced — there's no exit fee either way.
Does BMC build or fix my spiders?
No — BMC guarantees that execution follows what your spider's code defines, not how well that code is written. Building, fixing, or maintaining a spider is always Professional Services, even when it runs on BMC.
Can I self-host instead of using BMC?
Yes — Estela is open source (MIT-licensed) and free to self-host on your own Kubernetes cluster. If you want that infrastructure to be yours but with Bitmaker's support operating it, that's Estela Commercial Support, not BMC.
